Shibboleth, a £300,000 installation by Colombian artist Doris Salcedo, was the eighth commission in the Unilever Series at Tate Modern, London. Engineer Stuart Smith oversaw the work's realization and installation. The artwork consisted of a 548-foot (167-meter) long crack in the Turbine Hall floor, widening from a hairline fracture to several inches wide and two feet deep.
